Water heaters should be drained once a year to maintain proper heating as well as extending the life of your water heater. Remember to turn the gas off before draining.

Replacing your shower head can be an expensive way to get rid of lime build up on your shower head. Many of the newer shower heads have rubber tips for the spray nozzles, so by running your fingers over the nozzles while the water is running can help eliminate the build up. You can also take a plastic bag with vinegar in the bag and tie it around the shower head over night.
Most outside hose bibbs will have a cut off valve in the crawlspace, basement or under a cabinet. It is good to turn off this isolation valve during the winter and drain the line to prevent the line from freezing.
Ice is a great way to keep your disposal clean. Take 1 cup of ice and drop it in the disposal while the water is running and turn the disposal on for 1 or 2 minutes. This will can help eliminate odors from your disposal.
